WORKSHOPS

" The director has already achieved the greatest degree of power he has ever had in history. And our aim is to move beyond that situation by creating a form of theatre where it will be possible.."

-Ariane Mnouchkine

Workshops are the core of CITA’s education work, which offer an insight into the company’s working processes and on how CITA develops its work.  Lecture demonstrations, post show talks, and intimate workshops have taken place in over continents with people of varying interests, abilities and backgrounds, from professionals and students, to people within and without the theatre community. Activities take place throughout the year and include regular both public and private masterclasses.   Please scroll down for more information on the some of the workshops we offer.

Paths to Experience

There are four ways you can experience CITA workshops.

TEACHING WORKSHOPS

These workshops focus on the exercises and techniques CITA uses in the rehearsal room, including the study of the neutral mask, clowning, storytelling, the chorus and performance skills.
Workshops are available all year round. To find out more, or to book a workshop, please email us.

COMMISSIONS

When people or groups want  CITA to work with their group on a particular subject, we are able to make a custom tailored workshop based on the groups interests and needs.

INCUBATE

CITA`s INCUBATE intensive workshops are designed to open up its approaches to devising theatre, giving insights into creation, and offering tools for theatremakers devising their own work. Rather than teaching skills in isolation, we use this workshop series to propose creative problems and offer solutions to them.
Using CITA’s initial ideas as a starting point, the workshops focus on: How we can make links between movement, playing and creative work, and how we can build situations to carry a spectator into the world of our imagination.
